Proper Care of Formliners

The Release Agent you use is the #1 determining factor in how long your formliners will last.  We recommend using Unitex Q-2 VOC by Dayton Superior.  We stock it in 5-gallon buckets to get you started, but after that we recommend that you get it from a local distributor to save on shipping charges (otherwise we are paying to have 55-gallon drums or totes shipped to us & then paying to have it shipped to our customers, it doubles the price of the Release Agent).  

If you decide to use a Release Agent other than this you should test it on one Formliner first to see how it works.  If after several weeks of use it doesn't cause the Formliner to swell, shrink, or degrade then it should be fine to use on the rest of your Liners. 

Other than Release Agent, try to store your liners inside when not in use.  Keep concrete from building up on them by removing it periodically with a stiff bristle brush or light pressure washing.
